Good Evening!
Approximately 10 p.m. Haiti time:
Brian Field shared the following tonight:

After having just finished a time of worship and sharing together under the big mango tree, I wanted to share the many ways God has worked through our team today.

I rode through downtown Port-Au-Prince amongst the devastated rubble with a young lawyer named Frantz. He is the oldest of seven children raised by their single mother in one of the poorer sections of Port-Au-Prince. His mother was one of 40 who were killed while worshipping at their church when the earthquake hit.  Frantz narrowly escaped death when the building he had just left five minutes before the quake, collapsed. He drove us to the neighborhood he grew up in to see people he knew were still in need of medical attention.  We set up a make- shift clinic in an abandoned motel and treated approximately 30 people for half the day.

One man had a broken femur, yet untreated.  A few members of our team transferred him to the University of Miami hospital tent and while there, was able to check on a baby named Jerry, whom they had transferred the day before, with a possible skull fracture.  Dr. Jolie discovered that in all the chaos of the Medical Tent, Jerry had not received the help he needed and had become practically unresponsive. She was able to assemble a group of surgeons that were almost ready to leave for the day. They recognized the severity of his condition and were taking him into the OR as the team was leaving.  Tonight, we prayed for the young life of Jerry. He would not have made it through the night had our team not returned to check on him.
Another group from our team had the opportunity to pray for many who were coming to the clinics as well and make their way into some of the tent cities. Several people prayed to accept Christ.

We had a great day as a team and have shared hope and joy amidst the rubble in Port Au Prince.  Lives have been touched and literally saved today. We are bonded as a team and will brave the noise from the jets and helicopters another night to wake up tomorrow and do it all over again.

We feel your prayers,
Brian

Let’s join the team in praying for baby Jerry tonight.
