Creates layettes from new and gently used baby clothing (sizes NB-24 months), blankets and bedding and gives them to new mothers throughout Ventura County. Pass along your little one’s things or purchase some new essentials to donate. In addition to working with local agencies and groups serving expecting or new mothers, Baby Angel Threads also receives referrals through Calvary. What’s new:
- Layettes for Blanket Ministry Appalachians Mission Trip: The Blanket Ministry is taking a missions trip to the Appalachians in the summer of 2010. They plan to give away as many blankets as possible and Baby Angel Threads will send layettes with them as well. We’ve started making some “layettes-to-go” for babies 0-24 months. These layettes include various baby essentials and will be packaged in jumbo zip bags for easy transport and distribution. Stay tuned for updates on the trip and our involvement. We are really excited about this opportunity to share God’s love on the other side of America.
- Moms-in-need: if you know of any individual who could use baby items from Baby Angel Threads, please email me. We would love to connect with them and see how we help.
Current needs/volunteer opportunities:
- Children’s Orchard buyer volunteer: A few times a year, we sell donations that don’t really fit in layettes (super fancy dresses, Holiday apparel) at Children’s Orchard resale shop in Thousand Oaks. With the store credit, we purchase practical items like pajamas. If you would like to volunteer to be our buyer at Children’s Orchard, let me know.
- Fall service projects: please consider Baby Angel Threads as a service project for your organization, church or school. Contact me with any questions.

- September monthly clothing sort: RESCHEDULED for next Tuesday, September 22nd, 12-2 at the Potloff home. Come organize recent donations and make some layettes. Please R.S.V.P. and I can send you directions. Children welcome. Invite a friend!

- Ladies Night Out fundraiser – Thursday, September 17th, 6:30-8:30: This Thursday! We are having another party night at our house with Scentsy wickless candles and Stella & Dot jewelry. A portion of the sales from this evening will go towards purchasing clothes for layettes. Mark you calendar and look for an Evite. Invite a friend!

Note – we cannot accept toys, baby equipment or accessories: We just don’t have the storage for these items. Please do not leave anything but clothes or blankets in the drop box in Early Childhood. If you have other baby items you’d like to donate, please contact us and we can recommend organizations that accept non-clothing donations. Thank you!
